Stri dharma in Krsna Consciousness is about role of women in God centered society. Dharma means laws and orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Dharma distinguishes the human life from animals. Just as in the state people are governed by the laws, so God has created the laws and orders for humanity and coded them in vedic Literatures. Krsna Consciousness is living according to laws of God, Krsna. Consciousness means state of awareness. Krsna Consciousness or God Consciousness means living a lawful life in God Consciousness, or awareness of God in our lives. Laws of nature and God are given in Vedas. The essence of the vedic injunctions are presented in layman's language by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada in his volumes of transcendental literatures. These books serve the humanity by providing a Krsna conscious or dharmic way of life according to the laws of nature, devoid of sins thereby creating a peaceful God centered society. Stri means women, dharma means duty, This blog is teaches how to perform the duties of woman in Krsna Consciousness for the peaceful and God Conscious society. Good population in human society is the basic principle for peace, Prosperity and Spiritual progress in life. Such population depends on the chastity and devotion of its womanhood. As Children are prone to be misled similarly women are prone to degradation. Therefore, both children and women require protection by the elder members of the family. It is for this reason, various guidelines are given in Sastra (Vedic Literatures). Srila Prabhupada speaks about the traditional and cultural role of women in the general society as well as in Krsna Consciousness throughout his vani (instructions).
