Two kinds of women

Brahma divided women into two classes: one is a true form of womanhood and other is illusory. The true form of womanhood is a reflection of original goddesses. Wicked women are illusory representations of these goddesses.

From the Creator have come chaste and unchaste women. One is praiseworthy, the other is not. Examples of chaste women are Lakñmé, Sarasvaté, Durgä, Sävitré and Rädhä. Women who are expansions of them are auspicious, glorious and very commendable, such as Çatarüpa, Devahüti, Svadhä, Svähä, Dakñiëä, Anasüya, Gaìgä, Diti, Aditi, Vedavaté, etc. In every yuga cycle these women are excellent. The heavenly prostitutes are also expansions and partial expansions of the above women, but they are not praiseworthy because they are unchaste.

Women who are in the mode of goodness are virtuous and pure. The sages declare them to be excellent. But those who are in the modes of passion and ignorance are not so praiseworthy. The passionate ones are fond of sense pleasures, indulge in them, and always want to fulfill their selfish goals. Such women are usually insincere, deluded, and irreligious. Generally, they are unchaste. But woman in the mode of ignorance are considered the worst. They are irresistible.

Generally disciples/ readers misunderstand women as maya or illusion, what type of women is defined as maya is made clear by Sankacuda. Certain statements by Srila prabhupada describing women as maya is not pertaining to devotee women. Illusory forms of women are so attractive like that putana and Surapanaka, Demons disguised as beautiful women. Although they resemble goddess of fortune in appearance, we can see their behaviour in their actions. Men should not be fooled by beauty but should consider the actions of a women who they wish to put their trust upon them. Such as Cinema artists are extremely beautiful, but such bodily beauty is considered as illusion for men. They are been purposefully created to keep the conditioned souls in the trap of maya.

SB 3.31.37, Translation and Purport:

Amongst all kinds of living entities begotten by Brahmā, namely men, demigods and animals, none but the sage Nārāyaṇa is immune to the attraction of māyā in the form of woman.

The first living creature is Brahmā himself, and from him were created sages like Marīci, who in their turn created Kaśyapa Muni and others, and Kaśyapa Muni and the Manus created different demigods and human beings, etc. But there is none among them who is not attracted by the spell of māyā in the form of woman. Throughout the entire material world, beginning from Brahmā down to the small, insignificant creatures like the ant, everyone is attracted by sex life. That is the basic principle of this material world. Lord Brahmā's being attracted by his daughter is the vivid example that no one is exempt from sexual attraction to woman.

Woman, therefore, is the wonderful creation of māyā to keep the conditioned soul in shackles.
